A valued member of the City of Sydney Basketball Association Peter Panousis passed away peacefully on the 25th August with his family by his side.
Peter’s involvement with the City of Sydney Basketball Association (CSBA) commenced in the early 2000’s when his children Andrew, Pam and Vanessa started playing in our Saturday local competition for CYS. Peter was a member of the CYS basketball committee for well over 15 years and Club President for over 10 years. Throughout this time Peter was a passionate advocate for the growth of the sport at grassroots level.
When his children commenced playing representative basketball for the Sydney Comets, Peter was one of the first to volunteer as team manager, his involvement didn’t stop there he was also a valued member of the Representative Committee, Fundraising Committees and a member of CSBA tribunal/judiciary panels. He was always one of the first to volunteer for bench duty, master of the BBQ and helped organize various presentation nights.
Known for his incredibly sharp sense of humour and quick wit Peter always had multiple sarcastic comments and laughter to share with all that crossed his path.
The CSBA would like to extend its heartfelt condolences to his friends & family, Andrew, Pam & Vanessa.
